WELCOME

The Global Democracy Project (The GDP) is a non-Profit, non-religious, and non-Partisan effort to share the values and yield of democratic living by undertaking life-changing projects in emerging and young democracies particularly in Africa.

Our aim is to harness ideas and support of folk just like yourself and to focus those ideas and resources toward achieving tangible goals that highlight the value of democratic living in multi-ethnic societies. The projects will consolidate the gains in democracy, nurture it where it is not present, and encourage policy-makers toward a more plural dispensation.

The basic tenet of our philosophy is governance by the majority through the rule of constitutional law and regard to unique minority rights. The institution of democracy is defined by the age-old principles of Freedoms of Speech, Expression, Association for worship and Industry and the considerate exercise of those freedoms. They are based on inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the judicious pursuit of health and happiness.

Africa is a vast landscape of many races, tribes, ethnicities, and cultures. While the scope of such a project for Africa has not escaped us, the hope in cumulative infinitessimal efforts, and value-added linkage to the other continents, beckons us each and every day through the journey. Life’s journies. We are excited you can join us in those journeys and share in the joys and satisfaction of selfless enterprise.

The model for The GDP is to create a synergistic network of societies and cultures who rely on commonalities to enhance their democratic lives. We have identified our first Region of Operation (ROP) in order to more efficiently focus our activities in a manner that yields the most value in our view. I share with you the nations of ROP1:

ROP 1: Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, SierraLeone, The Gambia, USAGeorgia
