Funds Status

The JOHM Fund

The JOHM fund will begin The GDP’s capital campaign to:

1. Afford students from our ROPs the opportunity to receive training and education in Opthalmology and the opthalmic sciences. We will develop partnership with ROP institutions with a comprehensive syllabus and ware in the area of sight. We will match prospective scholarship recipients with these institutions and nurture their experiences.

2. To make opthalmic surgeries accessible and affordable for the most patients of the Nyakoi Vision Institute.

3. To supplement resources for corrective lenses and eyeglasses for The GDP’s SightSeed program.

The JOHM fund is the funding arm of Savanna Academy’s Nyakoi Vision Institute and the desire and promise of scholarship-recipients to serve our ROPs during and at the conclusion of their training and study will be a critical consideration in awarding scholarship and training funds.

We encourage our friends, partners, and sponsors to support the JOHM fund. As we comission The GDP’s permanent website, we encourage you to send any support to:

FATOU JAW MANNEH FUND

Monday, March 2nd, 2009.

Friends,

I am pleased to inform you that I had the opportunity to meet Fatou while in transit in Georgia and that she looked and was feeling excellent. She expresses her appreciation and delight at the enormity of goodwill you have afforded her in her hour of need and is forever grateful that there are persons such as yourselves who will come to the rescue of total strangers. I share with you Fatou’s appreciation:

Thanks to The Global Democracy Project for the funds you raised towards my freedom. You saved my life and I thank all the donors for  their concern, generosity and prompt response to the plea. I hope we will all join hands and make the The GDP a valuable and lasting community that will cater to the improvement and well–being of all peoples, be it in health, education or sustainable development around the world. I also encourage my fellow Africans to join hands and make The Global Democracy Project a success story for generations to come. I thank you all again.

Fatou Jaw manneh.
