Savanna Academy:

A proposed boarding and day school in the rural areas of our ROP nations, Savanna Academy will be The GDP’s signature campus that will be formed around the Senator Edward Kennedy Nyakoi Vision Institute (SEVINK). To afford rural children an opportunity for a quality and wholesome education. Emphasis will be placed on orphaned children. 100% of grades 1 thru 8 will be day school, and 50% of grades 9 thru 12 will be day school and the other 50% will be boarding school. We will secure 2000 hectares of land in our Region of Operation (ROP) for the Savanna Academy campus and its associated facilities.

We will update you on progress every step of the way as we encourage you assist us. Please to click on the Savanna Academy header above for more detailed information on this project.

An eye clinic within the Savanna Academy campus to afford rural residents an opportunity at improved vision and relief from diseases of the eye which can hinder full participation in democratic life and other appreciation of life. The institute will provide experiences in basic ophthalmology and the optical sciences to students of Savanna Academy who belong to the Ophthalmology Club. These students will assist surgeons in basic anesthesiology and post-operative recuperative care for patients. The JOHM fund will be the funding arm for SEVINK.

The SUDI, as part of the campus of the Savanna Academy, will be home to The GDP local administration and Relief logistics. It will offer relevant training workshops for ROP sustainable development projects as well as testing and analyses laboratories for disaster relief.
We will conduct project-specific feasibility studies and research at SUDI and develop Au-pair partnerships with colleges and universities of our ROP in the area of renewable energy such as wind, solar, and water, and bio-fuels and their attendant industrial processes.
