President of Yelema and Mayor of Commune-4 Bamako visited Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA on friday, June 3rd, 2011 to share his condolences with the people of Tuscaloosa who are recovering from the tornado storm of April 27th, 2011. Mayor Mara was received by City Councilman Bobby Howard of District 1 and City Clerk Tracy Croom. Councilman Howard facilitated a tour of some of the tornado damaged areas.

The event was covered by The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa TV station WVUA’s Sarah Chovnik and Travis and Jim Lawson Communications Radio’s Jim Lawson. Kevin Jones of Jones Media Productions covered the entire tour. The TV coverage aired on Friday evening and the radio interview was broadcast on Monday on The Jim Lawson show.
